How these numbers were settled
MST's official pages (rc-mst.com) publish the same 'GEAR RATIO: 1.89 (34T/18T)' for the XXX-D S (part 532128, a rear-motor shaft-driven RWD car) and this XXX-D VIP (part 532107, a '1/10 SCALE RC 4WD HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIFT CAR' per its manual, and listed as 4WD by AMain Hobbies and HobbyTown), so the rear reduction is shared.
- The 1.0 transmission and axle ratio is an inference, not a printed figure: MST drift chassis of this generation use a solid rear spool with no differential, so the published 1.89 is the pinion and spur mesh with no further reduction, and 34/18 = 1.889 matches it to within 0.05%.
- What differs from the XXX-D S is the added front prop shaft and counter-steer (CS) unit that drives the front wheels in the opposite steering direction.
- MST's XXX-D pages give no CS ratio.
- The 1.32 figure comes from Drift Mission's 2012 hands-on review and build log of this car ('Standard Countersteer is 1:1.32 CS Ratio'), only loosely supported by MST's spec sheet for the related FSX-D VIP ('CS RATIO: 1.32'), a different chassis of the same era.
- It is community-sourced, not manufacturer-confirmed for the XXX-D.
- The tire diameter is not published and is left blank; it does apply, since these cars ship with drift tires.
- KV does not apply: VIP is MST's bare high-spec chassis kit, sold without a motor (the brushless motor is bought separately).
- The cell count of 2 is a typical community estimate for MST's 1/10 brushless drift platforms of this era, not stated on any MST page found.
