How these numbers were settled
Tamiya's manual (58720) shows step 10 installing a stock 27T pinion (MA14) against a fixed 68T spur (MA26), and the gear-ratio table on page 19 lists 27T/68T = 6.55:1 (row K).
- Tamiya prints no separate transmission and axle ratio, so it is derived: 68/27 x ratio = 6.55 gives 2.601, matching the TT-02's documented 2.6:1 driveline constant.
- The TT-02 Type-S manual's table gives the same result independently (70T spur, 22T stock pinion, 8.27:1 published: 70/22 x ratio = 8.27 gives 2.60).
- Two manual tables agreeing on 2.6 is why these figures are treated as verified.
- Page 2 states the kit ships with no motor and no tires or tire inserts, so KV and the tire diameter do not apply (rather than being unknown).
- The same page calls for a '7.2-7.4volt battery', hence a cell count of 2.
- The SRX differs from the TT-02 Type-S (58600): a 68T spur instead of 70T, an 18-27T pinion range instead of 16-25T, and a front direct coupling (spool) in place of a differential, giving 6.55 rather than 8.27.
- The TT-02 Type-SR (47439) is not listed: its manual shows the same 70T spur and 16-25T pinion table as the Type-S and ships with no pinion or motor ('Choose a pinion gear referring to page 20'), so it has no stock spec from the maker and no real gearing difference from the Type-S.
