Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Ultimate

The top speed is kinematic: an ideal no-load RPM with no slip and no loss under load, so a real car is slower. The maker advertises 65 mph, which is their own claim on their own conditions.

How these numbers were settled

A separate SKU from the Rustler 4X4 VXL (67076-4): Ultimate trim, same driveline and gearing.

• The 67097-4 product page prints 'Gear Ratio (Internal): 13.97:1', and the Rustler 4X4 owner's manual prints '# Spur Gear Teeth x 2.85 / # Pinion Gear Teeth = Final Gear Ratio' with 11T/54T marked stock: 54/11 x 2.85 = 13.99, so the published 13.97 is the complete final drive and 2.85 is the ratio after the spur.
• A retailer spec sheet for this SKU independently states 'Overall Drive Ratio: 13.97:1', confirming the reading.
• Speed check: 3500 kV x 3S x 4.2 V / 13.97 on a 114 mm tire gives 42 mph no-load stock.
• Traxxas states the 65+ mph claim requires 3-cell LiPo and optional 20/54 gearing (final drive 7.70, about 76 mph no-load, so the claim is about 85% of theoretical); the advertised figure is not achievable on stock gearing.
• The tire diameter is estimated: Traxxas's page gives only the 2.8 in wheel size, and the 114 mm outside diameter comes from a retailer listing quoting the Gravix tire as 4.5" x 2.3" (114 mm x 58 mm).
