Redcat Racing Gen8 International Scout II

How these numbers were settled

The original (V1) Gen8 Scout II, the 2018 car that the V2 replaced.

• Redcat publishes the same range as on the V2, 'pinion gears from 9 to 23 tooth to create gear ratios from 28.12 to 71.85', and that range pins the ratio after the spur against the 45T spur exactly: 45/9 x 14.37 = 71.85 and 45/23 x 14.37 = 28.12.
• The 45T spur is confirmed by Redcat's parts page for RER11358, a 45T .8-module spur whose fitment list names GEN8 SCOUT II, Gen8 V2, GEN 9, WENDIGO, WENDIGO KIT and MARKSMAN.
• The V2's 17T stock pinion is deliberately not carried across: Redcat never states the V1's stock fitment, and a 17T can is not the same thing as a 17T pinion, so the pinion and final drive are left blank.
• The motor is a 17-turn RC550 brushed, so no KV.
• The 3S figure comes from the Hexfly HX-1040 crawler ESC (2-3S LiPo / 5-9 cell NiMH), which BRS Hobbies states comes stock on the Gen8 Scout II.
